Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, in characteristic humility of the House of Guru Nanak does not take any credit on Himself for all the blessings He showers on the world.
Listen to this soul-stirring Saakhi (Story) of the Prema Leper (Kohri) and how Guru Amar Das Ji Bless Him.
Holy Sangat was on its way to Goindwal Sahib. It was proceeding to Holy Guru Amar Das Ji. Members of the holy Sangat on their way were singing holy Hymns in praise of their Beloved Satguru, as you may listen below.
Listen to how sangat on its way to Goindwal Sahib is singing the Glories of Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, referring to the Blessings that Sri Guru Angad Sahib had bestowed upon Sri Guru Amar Das Ji:
Nimaneyan Da Maan Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Amar Das Ji
Nioteyan Di Ot Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Amar Das Ji
Prema, the leper, heard these life-giving Hymns of the passing by Sangat. He strongly felt and saw a real ray of hope in these holy words.
“O Shelter of the Shelterless, O Hope of the Hopeless, O Friend of the Friendless, O Home of the Homeless, Guru Amar Das Ji.”His diseased limbs could not carry him to the presence of the Merciful Guru. With great difficulty, but firmly resolved, he dragged his weary body upto the holy place. Totally fatigued and lifeless, he laid himself there, near the entrance to the Holy Mansion. He shed unending tears of despair pondering over and over as to who could be more hopeless, more helpless, more shelterless than him. He dare not drag himself in as a condemned person but lay there with a ray of hope that Antarjami Guru shall listen to his pathetic prayer and call him by Himself.
Also listen to the lessons for us from this Sacred Story. Baba Nand Singh Ji Maharaj explained that there is delay in throwing ourselves, in all humility and devotion, like Prema the Leper, at the Lotus Feet of our Beloved Sri Guru Granth Sahib but there is no delay in Sri Guru Nanak Sahib showering His Grace in saving us.
Baba Narinder Singh Ji further explained that is we lay prostrate at the Lotus Feet of Sri Guru Granth Sahib with full devotion (Sharadhha), then we have paid our homage at the Lotus Feet of God - Nirankar.
Listen to the Holy Kirtan:
Nanak Satgur Ki Sewa So Kare
Jis Nu Nadar Kare Kartar
Sabna Upar Nadar Prabh Teri
Kisey Thodi Kisey Hai Ghaneri
Guru Amar Das Ji has said
Gur Sikhan Iko Pyar
Gur Meeta Poota Bhaiya
Gur Satgur Bolo Sabh
Gur Aakh Guru Jeevaiya
Baba Narinder Singh Ji explained Sikh aur Satgur Da Rishta Sab to Pak Rishta Hai, Es De Vich Maya Nahi Aani Chanhidi, Es Rishte De Agey Khuda Vi Apna Sees Jhukanda Hai.
Grand Bachans on the relationship between a Sikh and his Satguru. Please listen.
Concluding Bahcans on the Significance of Tercentenary GurGaddi Divas (300 Saal Guru De Naal)
When Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib, having offered His all, establish Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the Eternal Guru, it was one of the biggest miracles of History - Nirankar was offering Nirankar Himself as a gift for Humanity. He blesses us with the Divine Gift of the Holy Service of Nirankar, Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Now that we have received such a blessing, it is a humble prayer that we must try to make the best of this opportunity.
Teri Sewa Tujh Te Hovey
Aur Na Dooja Karta
Bhagat Tera Soi Tudh Pavey
Jis Ni Tu Rang Dharta
